Chapter 18 - THE CRUMBLING TOWER
"What is the meaning of this interruption?" Judge Harrison demanded, adjusting his glasses.
"Your Honor, I am Prosecutor Clara Vance, representing Evelyn Sterling," Clara declared boldly.
"We are presenting immediate evidence of systemic fraud, kidnapping, and forgery," Clara announced.
Julian slammed his hands on the table and stood up.
"This woman is mentally unstable!" Julian yelled, pointing a finger at Evelyn.
"She escaped from a psychiatric facility this morning!" he shouted to the judge.
"That facility was bribed by you, Mr. Sterling," Clara countered, throwing a stack of bank transfers onto the judge’s bench.
"And Doctor Vance, who signed her commitment papers, received three million dollars last week," Clara added.
Doctor Vance stood up, sweating profusely, looking around for an exit.
"That's a lie!" Doctor Vance stammered.
"Sit down, Doctor!" Judge Harrison ordered sternly.
Victoria Sterling quietly stood up from her seat in the gallery and tried to slip toward the back exit.
Two federal marshals stepped out from the hallway and blocked her path.

"Mrs. Victoria Sterling, you are under arrest for conspiracy and human trafficking," the marshal stated loudly.
The courtroom broke out into absolute chaos.
