Chapter 6 - Into the Snake's Lair
The black sedan sped through the dark winding mountain roads.
Rain began to pour heavily, striking the windshield with fierce force.
Elena watched the rain droplets slide down the cold glass.
Her mind was racing with desperate plans to save her child.
"The estate is heavily guarded by private security," Arthur warned.
"They have orders to shoot anyone who trespasses on the property."
Elena pulled a small pocket knife from her coat.
"I don't care about their security," Elena said firmly.
Arthur glanced at her in the rearview mirror and chuckled darkly.
"You have spirit, Elena, but spirit won't stop bullets," Arthur noted.
The car stopped behind a line of dense pine trees.
Through the heavy rain, the massive stone gates of the mansion were visible.
Two armed guards stood under a small wooden canopy at the entrance.
Arthur reached into his glove compartment and pulled out a keycard.
"This gets us into the side entrance near the kitchen," Arthur whispered.
Suddenly, a loud explosion rocked the silence of the night air.
Flames erupted near the main security gate in the distance.
"What was that?!" Elena gasped, ducking her head down.

"That was my distraction," Arthur said calmly. "Move now!"
