Chapter 10 - Secrets in the Dark
Elena hesitated, her body shivering from the freezing mountain rain.
"Why should I trust you? You work for Victoria!" Elena cried out.
"I worked for her until I found out what she did to my sister," the assistant said grimly.
"My name is Sarah, and I am here to help you stop her."
Elena looked into Sarah's eyes and saw genuine, intense hatred for Victoria.
Without another word, Elena scrambled into the passenger seat of the car.
Sarah slammed the door and slammed her foot down on the gas pedal.
The car roared away from the mountain estate into the stormy night.
"Is my daughter really on that plane?!" Elena asked desperately.
Sarah shook her head quickly while driving through the winding curves.
"No, that was a lie Victoria told to break your spirit," Sarah revealed.
Elena gasped, a glimmer of hope instantly igniting in her chest.
"Where is she then? Tell me!" Elena begged loudly.
"She is hidden in the old warehouse near the harbor," Sarah answered.
"Victoria plans to ship her out on a private cargo boat at dawn."
Elena looked at the clock on the car dashboard.
It showed three thirty in the morning.
"We have less than two hours," Elena whispered, clutching her injured arm.
Sarah handed Elena a small black radio communicator.

"My insider at the harbor is waiting for us," Sarah said sternly.
"Tonight, Victoria’s entire empire comes crashing down."
