Chapter 17 - Edge of the Abyss
"Stop this car right now or I swear I will end you!" Elena threatened fiercely.
Arthur glanced back, his eyes widening in sudden shock and panic.
He jerked the steering wheel violently to avoid the blade.
The police car swerved wildly across the wet asphalt road.
The tires screeched loudly as the vehicle lost all traction.
The car spun out of control, crashing violently through the metal guardrail.
It slid across the muddy grass, stopping inches away from the cliff edge.
The front wheels were hanging precariously over the vast, empty drop.
Below them, violent ocean waves crashed against giant sharp rocks.
The car rocked unsteadily back and forth with every small movement.
"Don't move!" Elena whispered in horror to her daughter.
Arthur groggily unbuckled his seatbelt, coughing from the deployed airbag.
His sudden movement caused the heavy car to tilt further forward into the abyss.
"You idiot, sit still!" Elena yelled in absolute panic.

The weight shift caused the back wheels to lift slightly off the muddy ground.
