Chapter 6 - Shadows of Brotherhood
Gabriel felt a cold chill run down his spine.
Julian Vance was Gabriel’s younger brother.
He ran the legitimate side of the family’s empire.
"Julian?" Gabriel muttered, refusing to believe it.
"He was weeping louder than anyone at the church today."
Doc Vance hooked an IV bag to Mia to stabilize her fluid levels.
"Julian bought the patent for this exact compound three months ago," Doc Vance revealed.
"I thought he was researching neurological cures."
"Now I realize what he was planning."
Gabriel’s knuckles turned white as he clenched his fists.
His own brother had poisoned his eight-year-old daughter.
He had staged her death to take control of the family business.
"Keep her stable," Gabriel ordered the doctor.
"If her pulse stops, yours stops too."
Bruno stood up, letting out a low, protective growl.
"Bruno, stay," Gabriel commanded.
"Guard Mia with your life."
"If anyone enters this room who isn't me, tear them apart."
Bruno barked once in agreement and sat back down by the child.
Gabriel pulled a clean spare pistol from his suit jacket.

"It’s time to pay my brother a visit," Gabriel said.
