Chapter 12 - The Ghost of Queens

Word of the chaotic shootout at the penthouse spread fast.

The underworld of Queens believed Gabriel Vance was dead or in hiding.

The Syndicate took control of his territory within forty-eight hours.

They had no idea Gabriel was watching from the shadows.

Gabriel sat inside an unmarked van parked across from a Syndicate warehouse.

He pulled a tactical vest over his black shirt.

Beside him, Bruno sat motionless, his dark eyes locked on the target.

Gabriel checked his silenced weapon.

"Julian traded my daughter for his own safety," Gabriel said aloud.

"He thinks the Syndicate will protect him."

"He forgot who built this city."

Gabriel slid the van door open.

"Bruno, heel," Gabriel commanded silently.

They walked toward the heavy steel doors of the warehouse under the cover of darkness.

A guard was smoking near the side entrance.

Before the guard could react, Bruno moved like a shadow.

The dog slammed into him, knocking him down without making a sound.

Gabriel caught the guard’s dropping weapon before it hit the ground.

"Good boy," Gabriel whispered.

They slipped inside the dark facility.
