Chapter 17 - Falling Pillars
Explosions detonated key structural pillars across the main level.
The entire warehouse shook violently.
Dust and massive concrete chunks rained down from above.
The incoming mercenaries panicked as the ceiling began to collapse.
"Retreat! The building is coming down!" a guard yelled.
Gabriel kicked open a ventilation shaft near the vault base.
"Bruno, go!" Gabriel ordered.
The dog squeezed into the narrow shaft without hesitation.
Gabriel grabbed Viktor by his collar, dragging the wounded boss along.
"You're coming with me," Gabriel gritted his teeth.
They crawled through the metallic duct as concrete smashed onto the floor above.
The entire upper floor crashed downward, sealing the main stairwell completely.
The thick steel vault remained intact under the rubble, safe and secure.
Gabriel and Bruno broke out of the ventilation exhaust into the side alleyway.
Rain poured over them, washing away the plaster dust.
Viktor collapsed onto the wet asphalt, gasping for air.
