Chapter 7 - The Confrontation

Leo rushed out of his house into the pouring rain and drove straight to Marcus’s mansion.

He pounded on the heavy oak door until Marcus opened it, holding a red cup with a cocky grin.

"What’s up, bro? Party's inside," Marcus said, leaning against the doorframe.

Leo shoved Marcus hard into the foyer, letting the heavy door slam shut behind them.

"You stole my jacket three years ago!" Leo yelled, pointing an accusing finger. "You were the one who hit Maya with your dad’s sports car!"

Marcus’s smirk vanished instantly, replaced by a cold, calculating glare.

"So what if I did?" Marcus sneered, wiping his mouth. "My dad paid off the officers and erased the main footage."

"And you framed me!" Leo shouted.

"You were unconscious in the passenger seat, dead drunk after my party," Marcus laughed softly. "It was so easy to slip your jacket on and put your hands on the wheel."

"I’m going to the police right now," Leo said, turning toward the door.

"Go ahead," Marcus chuckled darkly. "Check your phone first."
