Chapter 5 - The Principal's Trap

Inside Vice Principal Vance’s dimly lit office, the air felt suffocating.

Vance sat behind his mahogany desk, casually tapping a pen against a thick paper folder.

"There will be no police involvement in today's incident," Vance declared calmly.

"She was assaulted and humiliated!" Leo shouted, leaning over the desk. "Marcus tripped her on purpose!"

"Marcus’s father is the primary donor for our school's new athletics wing, Leo," Vance said with a chilling smile. "Accidents happen on stairwells."

Marcus sat in the leather chair beside Leo, grinning smugly with his arms crossed.

"Besides, Leo," Vance continued, sliding a printout across the desk. "If the police come here, we might have to hand over the traffic security archives from three years ago."

The printout was a freeze-frame from the same video Leo had just received on his phone.

"Are you threatening me?" Leo asked, his voice trembling with anger.

"I'm giving you a choice," Vance replied, leaning back. "Stay silent, keep your distance from Maya, and protect your family’s reputation."

"And if I refuse?" Leo demanded.

"Then tomorrow morning, this frame goes straight to the district attorney," Vance said softly.
