Chapter 4 - The Anonymous Video

Leo pulled out his phone with shaking hands and opened the file.
The video showed the night of the hit-and-run accident three years ago—the exact accident that had stolen Maya’s leg.
In the grainy footage, a black sports car sped through a dark intersection and struck a pedestrian.
The driver’s door opened for a split second under the streetlamp.
Leo’s heart stopped.
The person behind the wheel in the video was wearing Leo’s signature high school varsity jacket.
It looked exactly like Leo.
"No... this is impossible," Leo muttered under his breath, feeling a wave of nausea wash over him. "I wasn't even driving that night!"
He looked up toward the end of the hallway, but Maya was already gone.
