He was dressed in plain clothes, accompanied by Richard Sterling himself.

Richard stepped out from behind the detective with a smirk.

"You really are persistent, aren't you?" Richard said softly.

"I knew you couldn't resist coming back for the truth."

"You monster," Eleanor spat out, glaring at Richard.

Detective Vance let out a dark laugh.

"I am the lead detective on this case, Eleanor," Vance said coldly.

"Whatever evidence you think you have will burn right here tonight."

"Along with you."

Richard took a step back toward the exit.

"Make it look like an accident, Vance," Richard ordered smoothly.

"She returned to the crime scene and was crushed by falling debris."

Detective Vance tightened his grip on the trigger and aimed at Eleanor's forehead.
