Chapter 11 - BETRAYAL AT THE DOCKS

Eleanor arrived at the abandoned train station twenty minutes later.
The dark warehouse was empty, illuminated only by a flickering yellow streetlight.
She stepped inside cautiously, her hand clutching the leather pouch under her coat.
Footsteps echoed against the concrete floor.
Officer Miller stepped out from behind a rusty train car.
"You came," Miller said, looking around nervously.
"Do you have the papers?"
Eleanor stepped forward and handed the leather pouch to Miller.
Miller opened the pouch and scanned the signed contract using his flashlight.
His expression turned grave as he read the names on the document.
"This is enough to put Richard away for life," Miller said in disbelief.
"Where is my brother, Miller?" Eleanor demanded desperately.
"Where are they holding Leo?"
Before Miller could answer, a shadow moved in the corner of the station.
The metallic sound of a gun racking filled the quiet room.
Victoria Sterling stepped out from behind a pile of wooden crates.

She was holding a sleek black pistol, aimed directly at Miller’s back.
"Hand over the pouch, Officer," Victoria said smoothly.
