Chapter 12 - THE PRICE OF TRUTH

Miller slowly turned around to face Victoria, holding the papers firmly in his hand.
"You're out of your mind, Victoria," Miller said firmly.
"This has gone too far."
"I paid your precinct chief five hundred thousand dollars tonight," Victoria replied with a cold smirk.
"You're the only loose end left, Miller."
Eleanor's heart sank into her stomach.
The entire police department was compromised.
"Where is Leo?" Eleanor screamed at Victoria.
"Tell me where he is!"
"Your little brother is currently in a warehouse by the harbor," Victoria revealed with a cruel laugh.
"And unless you turn yourself in to the police right now, he won't see tomorrow."
Suddenly, Miller raised his weapon toward Victoria.
BANG!
A shot rang out, but it was not from Miller’s gun.
Detective Vance had emerged from behind Victoria and shot Miller point-blank in the chest.
Miller fell back onto the cold floor, dropping the papers into a puddle of water.
"Miller!" Eleanor shrieked in total terror.
May you like
Vance pointed his smoking gun straight at Eleanor.
"End of the line, maid," Vance said coldly.
