Chapter 9 - Infiltration
The gates of the estate were heavily guarded.
Security cameras monitored every angle of the high stone walls.
Jax cut the car lights a block away.
"There's an old utility tunnel under the east wing," Jax whispered.
"How do you know that?" Evelyn asked suspicious.
"I helped build this place thirty years ago," Jax confessed.
They crept through the thick bushes toward a rusty metal hatch.
Jax pried it open with a crowbar.
Damp, foul-smelling air rushed out from the darkness below.
They climbed down into the narrow subterranean passage.
Above them, they could hear the faint sound of footsteps on the upper floors.
"Stay close," Jax warned.
