Chapter 18 - The Final Confrontation
"I knew you would come, Evelyn," Victoria said smoothly.
Behind Victoria stood four heavily armed private guards.
Beside her sat little Lily, strapped into a high chair, crying silently.
And tied to a pillar in the corner was Evelyn’s husband, barely conscious.
"Daddy!" Lily cried out when she saw Evelyn.
"Let them go, Victoria!" Evelyn yelled, taking a step forward.
"You've lost, my dear," Victoria declared calmly.
"This entire facility is rigged with explosives."
"If I press this button, everyone dies instantly."
Victoria held up a small black detonator switch.
Jax slowly raised his hands and took a step back.
"Victoria, please... leave the child out of this," Jax pleaded.
