Chapter 11 - The Gas Begins to Leak
A sharp hiss sounded from the metal pipes above.
A faint white gas began filling the narrow vault.
Jax coughed violently, covering his mouth with his sleeve.
"Poison gas!" Jax choked out.
Evelyn grabbed a heavy steel pipe from the wall.
She began striking the electronic control panel with all her strength.
Sparks flew wildly across the room.
The gas was rising rapidly, reaching their knees.
Evelyn’s eyes burned, and her vision began to blur.
"Evelyn... save yourself..." Jax wheezed, falling to his knees.
Evelyn raised the pipe high above her head one last time.
She struck the main breaker box with a shattering blow.
