Chapter 19 - The Ultimate Choice
The man in the wine suit stepped out from behind a glass wall.
His face was bruised from Evelyn's kick earlier in the ballroom.
He held a silver pistol pointed directly at Evelyn's head.
"You humiliated me in front of everyone," he snarled.
"Now you pay the price."
Evelyn did not flinch, looking directly into his angry eyes.
"You're nothing but a coward hiding behind your mother," Evelyn said coldly.
The man’s finger tightened nervously on the trigger.
Suddenly, Evelyn’s husband struggled wildly against his heavy ropes.
"Evelyn, take Lily and run!" he screamed with all his remaining strength.
Victoria raised the black detonator higher into the air.
"Choose, Evelyn," Victoria barked with a terrifying smile.
