Chapter 15 - The Video Message
Evelyn held her breath, staring at the screen in disbelief.
Her husband looked up slowly at the camera lens.
"Evelyn... if you are watching this, it means I failed," his voice said weakly.
Tears streamed down Evelyn’s cheeks silently.
"Victoria did not hire me... she imprisoned me," he revealed.
"She used my technology to build her criminal empire."
"And if she threatened you with my death... it was all a lie."
"The man you saw tonight... the man in the wine suit..."
He paused, coughing up blood.
"He is Victoria’s real son... and my half-brother."
Evelyn gasped, stepping back from the screen.
"He took everything from us," her husband whispered on the recording.
