Chapter 10 - Trapped in the Vault
"Stop!" Jax hissed, pulling Evelyn back.
The passage was crisscrossed with high-tech security sensors.
"They've upgraded the system," Jax muttered, sweating.
Suddenly, heavy iron grates slammed down on both sides of the corridor.
They were completely sealed inside.
A bright spotlight turned on above them.
A loudspeaker crackled to life with laughter.
It was Victoria’s cold, mocking voice.
"Did you really think it would be that easy, my dear?" Victoria asked.
"Where is my daughter, Victoria?!" Evelyn shouted into the ceiling.
"She is taking a pleasant trip out of the country," Victoria revealed.
Evelyn’s blood ran cold.
"You monster!" Evelyn screamed.
