Chapter 13 - UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Arthur Vance stepped out of a command vehicle, walking over to his daughter.
"It is done, Victoria," Arthur said gently, placing a hand on her shoulder.
"Marcus Vane and his entire board will spend the rest of their lives behind bars."
Victoria stared out at the dark ocean, her expression unreadable.
"Is it really over, Dad?" she asked quietly.
Arthur paused for a moment, his smile fading slightly.
"What do you mean?" he asked.
Victoria pulled out her personal phone and opened an encrypted messaging app.
A single message had arrived three minutes ago from an untraceable server.
The message read: "Julian was just the front door. The real key lies in the Old Vault at the Vance Manor."
Victoria showed the screen to her father.
Arthur’s face turned visibly pale as he read the text.
"That’s impossible," Arthur whispered, his hands trembling slightly.
"Only three people in the world know about the Old Vault."
"Who sent this, Dad?" Victoria asked, her eyes narrowing with deep suspicion.
"Your mother... before she passed away," Arthur said, his voice barely audible over the sound of the wind.
Victoria felt a cold shiver run down her spine.
Her mother had died fifteen years ago in a tragic car accident. Or so she had always been told.
"What are you hiding from me, Dad?" Victoria demanded, her voice rising.

"We need to go home immediately," Arthur said grimly, ignoring her question.
"The game isn't over yet."
