Chapter 12 - THE CONFRONTATION
The federal agents moved in rapidly, securing the area and cuffing Marcus’s remaining men.
Marcus was roughly forced down onto his knees and handcuffed behind his back.
His crimson suit was ruined, covered in dirt and seawater.
Julian was cut free from his ropes, but as soon as he stood up, two federal agents slapped heavy steel cuffs on his wrists.
"Wait! No! I'm the victim here!" Julian screamed frantically.
"I was forced into this by Marcus Vane! Ask my wife!"
Victoria walked slowly over to Julian.
She looked down at him with absolute contempt.
"I am not your wife, Julian," Victoria said coldly.
"Our marriage was never registered under my real legal name."
Julian stared at her in total shock, his mind completely shattering.
"What... what do you mean?" he gasped.
"The marriage certificate you signed three years ago was under a shell identity," Victoria revealed with a wicked smile.
"Legally, you were never married to the Vance family heir."
"You were just a subject in an elaborate sting operation."
"No... NO!" Julian shrieked, falling back to his knees.
"You lied to me! You manipulated me for three years!"
"You tried to ruin my life today, Julian," Victoria replied softly.
"I just returned the favor with compound interest."
An agent pulled Julian up by his arms and began dragging him toward a waiting police transport van.
As Julian was pulled away, he saw Sophia sitting in the back of a police cruiser nearby, sobbing uncontrollably.
