Chapter 11 - THE SHADOW STRIKE

Instantly, the single spotlight violently burst in a flash of sparks.

Total, pitch-black darkness enveloped the pier.

Shouts of panic instantly broke out among Marcus’s men.

"Hold your positions! Fire at will!" Marcus screamed, firing his gun blindly into the dark.

Muzzle flashes illuminated the fog in terrifying bursts.

Heavy gunfire echoed across the water, but no one knew what they were shooting at.

Through the darkness, shadow-like figures dropped silently from the tops of the shipping containers.

Arthur Vance’s elite night-vision strike team had been waiting in position for hours.

Silenced gunshots hummed through the air with lethal precision.

One by one, Marcus’s guards fell to the cold concrete without making a sound.

Julian shrieked in terror as he felt the wooden chair he was tied to violently flip over.

"Help! Don't kill me! Don't kill me!" Julian sobbed, hyperventilating on the wet ground.

In the dark, a hand grabbed Marcus Vane by his throat from behind.

A cold steel blade pressed firmly against his side.

"Don't move a single muscle, Marcus," Victoria’s voice whispered right into his ear.

The high-power floodlights of three massive coast guard vessels suddenly lit up the entire harbor.

The bright light revealed every single one of Marcus’s men disarmed and forced to the ground.

Surrounding the pier were dozens of federal agents with weapons raised.

Marcus gasped for air, his eyes wide with disbelief as he realized the full extent of the operation.

"You... you brought the federal authorities?" Marcus choked out.

"I didn't just bring them, Marcus," Victoria whispered cheerfully.
