The gun went sliding across the slick marble floor.
Victoria immediately lunged toward the dropped weapon.
Eleanor kicked the gun away just in time, sending it spinning into the outdoor fountain.
Julian struck Richard with an elbow to the jaw, knocking him back.
Julian scrambled to his feet and ran out the rear service doors toward the waiting sedan.
"Richard, get up!" Eleanor yelled, helping the bruised gentleman to his feet.
"We cannot let him reach the harbor!" she urged.
Richard wiped blood from his lip, his eyes burning with renewed fury.
"My private garage is through this hallway," Richard said, pulling a key fob from his tuxedo pocket.
They raced down the narrow corridor, leaving the chaos of the ballroom behind.
Victoria’s panicked screams echoed from the main hall as security finally restrained her.
Richard ignited the twin-turbo engine of his black sports car.
The heavy iron gates of the estate opened just as Julian’s sedan sped down the winding mountain road.
"If Julian gets on that cargo ship, the evidence dies with him," Eleanor warned, staring at the speedometer.
"He won't make it to the ship," Richard stated through gritted teeth.
Rain poured relentlessly as the two vehicles flew down the treacherous coastal cliffs.
Up ahead, Julian’s car suddenly swerved across both lanes, deliberately blocking the narrow bridge.
