Chapter 14 - The Hidden Vault
The armored van sped down the deserted industrial roads toward the city outskirts.
"Where are we going?" Victoria asked, clutching her seatbelt nervously.
"To father’s original underground vault beneath the old textile mill," Richard answered.
"That's the only place off the global grid," Richard explained.
"And the only place where we can access the master mainframe," Julian added.
They arrived at the abandoned brick structure as the first light of dawn broke.
Richard led them deep into the basement, behind a hidden brick wall.
He placed his signet ring into a concealed keyhole beside a heavy steel vault door.
The vault hissed loudly as pneumatic seals unlocked, revealing a high-tech surveillance room.
Monitors covered the main wall, display feeds tracking Vance Enterprises assets worldwide.
"Look at the screen," Julian said, pointing at the center display.
The logo of Vance Enterprises was being replaced globally with the emblem of The Syndicate.

"She's liquidating every asset in real-time," Victoria gasped in horror.
"In two hours, Vance Enterprises will cease to exist," Richard declared grimly.
