Chapter 7 - The Auction House Trap

Rain lashed against the tall glass windows of the Grand Imperial Auction House.
Inside, the city's wealthiest elites gathered under crystal chandeliers.
At the center of the stage rested a glass display case covered in velvet.
Inside the case sat a tarnished silver signet ring with a dragon crest.
It was the original seal of Ethan’s grandfather.
Sitting in the front row, wearing an immaculate black tuxedo, was Arthur Vance.
Arthur smiled as he sipped his champagne, waiting for the bids to open.
"Tonight, we sell the legacy of a fallen dynasty," Arthur declared loudly to his peers.
Suddenly, the heavy double doors of the auction hall swung violently open.
A wet, mud-splattered black luxury sports car screeched onto the polished marble floor.
The crowd screamed in terror as glass panels shattered everywhere.
The driver's side door opened smoothly.
Ethan stepped out of the vehicle, completely unharmed, wearing a dark tailored suit.

He adjusted his cuffs with supreme calm.
"I believe that ring isn't yours to sell, Arthur," Ethan said, his voice ringing through the silent hall.
