Chapter 19 - THE ULTIMATE BETRAYAL

The wind howled through the broken glass of the lighthouse, carrying the salty spray of the crashing waves below.
"What do you want, Victoria?" Jax asked, his voice dripping with venom.
"I want the master access codes to Father’s offshore vault in Switzerland," Victoria revealed, her eyes gleaming with insatiable greed.
"Only you and Father know the final decryption key."
"I don't have the key," Jax lied, keeping his eyes glued to the revolver in her hand.
"Don't lie to me!" Victoria barked, pulling the gun's hammer back with a sharp, terrifying CLICK.
"Father trusted you with his entire financial empire! Give me the key, or I will end this bloodline right now!"
Elena stepped forward, her face pale, her arms outstretched pleadingly.
"Victoria, please! She's your niece! She's just a child!" Elena begged hysterically.
"Family means nothing in this business, Elena!" Victoria shouted back, her composure cracking.
"Father proved that when he sold you off to cartel leaders, and when he tried to execute me!"
Jax took a slow, deliberate breath, lowering his firearm slightly.
"All right," Jax said quietly. "I'll give you the decryption key."
Victoria sneered triumphantly. "Smart man. Speak."
"The key is written on the back of the silver locket around my daughter's neck," Jax said, his voice flat and unreadable.
Victoria glanced down at Lily’s small neck, noticing the silver locket Jax had given her earlier that morning.
Victoria leaned down slightly, reaching her left hand out to grab the silver locket around the child's neck.
That split-second distraction was all Jax needed.
Jax did not fire his gun.
Instead, he lunged forward with explosive speed, driving his body directly into Victoria, tackling her through the shattered glass window of the lighthouse observation deck.

"JAX!" Elena screamed in sheer, absolute horror.
Jax and Victoria tumbled out into the open night air, falling toward the jagged, black rocks and thrashing ocean waves forty feet below.
