Chapter 20 - The Unbroken Promise

One year later, the grand gates of the Vance estate opened to welcome a warm summer evening.
A grand charity gala was being held inside the brightly lit mansion.
Hundreds of respected guests filled the grand hall, enjoying music and laughter.
Clara stood at the top of the grand staircase, wearing a stunning white silk gown.
Beside her stood Julian, looking handsome in a tailored black tuxedo, his hand wrapped around hers.
Leo stood between them, holding both of their hands with a wide, bright smile.
"Look at them, Julian," Clara whispered, scanning the happy crowd below.
"This house used to be a cage of fear and secrets."
"Now it's filled with love and life," Julian agreed softly, kissing the side of her temple.
Down in the city maximum-security prison, Victoria sat in a dark, cold cell.
She stared out the small barred window at the distant city lights, clutching her worn orange blanket.
She knew she would spend the rest of her life behind those heavy iron bars.
Back at the estate, Julian raised a crystal glass to toast the crowd gathered in the foyer.
"To family," Julian announced, his voice echoing warmly through the home.
"To truth, justice, and the strong woman who saved us all," Julian added, looking into Clara's eyes.
The crowd cheered, raising their glasses in celebration.
