Chapter 16 - The Trap Sprung
Julian did not flinch, keeping his eyes locked on his former attorney.
"You made one critical mistake, Harrison," Julian said quietly.
Harrison frowned, his finger tightening on the trigger.
"And what mistake is that?" Harrison sneered.
"You assumed Clara was just an helpless maid," Julian replied calmly.
Suddenly, a massive steel shipping container suspended above Harrison’s car swung violently down.
The heavy container smashed onto the hood of Harrison's sedan with a deafening metal crunch.
Harrison gasped in shock, momentarily throwing his balance off.
Clara sprinted out from behind the crates, holding a heavy steel pipe.
She swung the pipe with all her strength, striking Harrison's arm and knocking the gun into the ocean.
Harrison yelled in pain, stumbling back against his crushed car.
Julian lunged forward, tackling Harrison to the wooden planks of the pier.
He pinned Harrison's arms behind his back, pressing his knee firmly into the attorney's spine.
"It's over, Harrison," Julian growled close to his ear.
Sirens echoed in the distance, blue and red lights flashing across the misty water.

Clara stood above them, breathing heavily, the steel pipe resting firmly at her side.
Julian looked up at Clara, a deep sense of pride and admiration filling his heart.
