Chapter 18 - Rebuilding the Ashes

Three months later, the Vance estate was completely renovated.
The cold marble surfaces were replaced with warm wooden accents and bright flowers.
The dark memories that once plagued the mansion were replaced with laughter and light.
In the backyard, eight-year-old Leo was running across the lush green grass, kicking a soccer ball.
Jax stood by the patio, wearing a clean jacket, watching the boy with a faint, proud smile.
"He's got a strong kick," Jax remarked as Julian walked up beside him.
"He gets his toughness from our family," Julian said, offering Jax a cold glass of lemonade.
Jax took the glass, nodding quietly in respect.
"I'm heading back out on the road tomorrow, Vance," Jax said softly.
"The diner is open again, and my crew needs me."
Julian shook Jax's hand with a firm, genuine grip.
"You're always welcome here, Jax," Julian said sincerely. "You saved my son's life."
Jax looked at Leo one last time, a rare, soft look in his rugged eyes.
"Keep him safe, Julian," Jax said quietly, before turning and walking down the driveway.
Clara stepped out onto the patio, holding a tray of freshly baked pastries.
Leo came running over, hugging Clara tightly around the waist.
