Chapter 9 - The Fall of a Coward

The heavy steel pipe crashed against the stained concrete floor with a deafening metallic clang.
"How... how on earth did you manage to track him down?!" Julian screamed out, his mind collapsing.
"You are foolishly trying to play a game whose rules you cannot even comprehend," Harrison said, stepping closer.
"You genuinely believed you were marrying a helpless, defenseless orphan girl with no backing."
"You believed you could casually torture and steal the entire Vance legacy through cheap domestic abuse."
"But Evelyn is the sole, legitimate blood heir to the entire international conglomerate."
"I am merely the supreme guardian tasked with ruthlessly protecting her empire until she claims the throne."
Julian’s fragile mind completely shattered under the terrifying weight of the truth.
"She... she is the true master heir?" Julian stammered, falling hard against a rusted container.
"You were never the grand master of that estate, Julian," Harrison said with terrifying ice in his tone.
"You were merely a parasitic guest who foolishly mistook my patience for weakness."
Suddenly, four heavy armored vans completely barricaded all the warehouse's exit doors.
Dozens of fully armed tactical security personnel flooded into the facility, aiming red laser sights at his chest.
Julian collapsed heavily onto his knees on the filthy, mud-slicked concrete floor.
"Please... Mr. Vance... I beg you, have mercy on me!" Julian whimpered pathetically, heavy tears streaming down his face.
"I was completely desperate! My father's massive illegal gambling debts were going to destroy us!"
"Mercy is a luxury reserved exclusively for human beings who show mercy," Harrison said quietly.
He slowly turned his back on the crying, broken man.
"Arrest him for violent kidnapping, high-level extortion, and multiple counts of felony assault," Harrison instructed the officers.
As the armed team forcibly dragged Julian away in heavy iron handcuffs, Harrison stepped back out into the rain.
He opened the heavy rear door of his customized luxury sedan.

Evelyn sat quietly inside, watching her abusive husband get thrown into the back of a police transport.
She felt no sadistic joy, only an overwhelming, deep sense of total liberation.
