Chapter 6 - The Escape
Everyone in the room froze as the metal vent cover burst completely open.
Lily tumbled out of the opening onto the carpet, holding a heavy steel wrench.
"Leave her alone!" Lily screamed, charging at the assistant holding Eleanor.
Lily slammed the steel wrench down onto the assistant's knee with all her tiny strength.
The man howled in pain and instantly released his grip on Eleanor's wrists.
"Run, Miss Eleanor!" Lily shrieked, throwing the wrench at Dr. Vance's face.
Dr. Vance ducked just in time as the wrench shattered a glass mirror on the wall behind him.
Eleanor grabbed Lily's hand without hesitating for a single second.
They bolted through the open bedroom door into the upper hallway.
"Stop them! Lock the main gates!" Julian roared behind them.
Eleanor and Lily sprinted down the grand staircase, their footsteps thunderous in the quiet estate.
Wedding guests screamed in confusion as Eleanor tore through the lobby in her torn, muddy gown.
They pushed through the heavy front glass doors into the pouring rain once again.
In the distance, the massive iron security gates of the estate were slowly sliding shut.
A black SUV idling near the driveway suddenly flashed its headlights twice.
The rear door of the black SUV swung open.
A woman with silver hair reached her arm out into the pouring rain.

"Eleanor! Get in!" a voice called out over the sound of the storm.
It was the exact voice Eleanor had heard in her lullabies twenty years ago.
