The heavy iron door at the end of the hall remained locked, its electronic keypad blinking red.
Dust and fine debris rained down from the ceiling as the chapel above continued to burn.
"The secondary locks triggered automatically when the fire reached the main panel!" Jax yelled over the noise.
"Jax, we need to get him out right now!" Eleanor screamed, pointing at her father's cell door.
Jax nodded, gripping the heavy iron ax with both hands.

Jax swung again, the heavy blade biting deep into the reinforced steel frame.
With a final, desperate heave, Jax leveraged the ax, snapping the lock open.
The heavy steel door swung inward with a loud screech.
Eleanor rushed into the cell and threw her arms around her fragile father.
"I thought I lost you forever, Dad," Eleanor sobbed, clinging to his thin shoulders.
"I never gave up hope, my sweet Eleanor," her father whispered, his voice trembling with emotion.
"We have to move, now!" the waitress shouted from the corridor entrance.
"The air is running out, and the main support beams are giving way!" she warned.
Jax grabbed her father under his arm, helping the weak man stand.

They rushed back toward the locked electronic vault door.
Smoke began to seep through the ventilation grates from above, filling the hallway with black, suffocating haze.
