Chapter 7 - Breakout

Julian sat in his dark office, staring at a framed photo of Clara and Lily.

The door unlocked, and Mark slid into the room like a shadow.

"Boss, I found where they're keeping Lily," Mark reported urgently.

"Where?" Julian demanded, instantly standing up.

"She's at the St. Jude Private Sanatorium on the outskirts of the city."

"It's owned by a subsidiary of Sterling Enterprises."

"Eleanor is preparing to transport her to a private jet bound for Zurich at midnight."

Julian checked his watch.

It was 10:15 PM.

"What about Chloe?" Julian asked.

"Detective Vance arranged for her release on signature bail twenty minutes ago," Mark replied.

"She's waiting in the car outside right now."

Julian didn't hesitate for a single second.

"Let's go."

Ten minutes later, Julian climbed into the back seat of a tinted SUV.

Chloe was sitting there, her wrists bruised red from the handcuffs.

When their eyes met, an unstated bond of shared determination passed between them.

"We are getting my daughter back tonight," Julian said firmly.

"And we are stopping that plane," Chloe added, her voice dropping an octave.

"I managed to hide my phone's recording before they arrested me."

"I have Lily's statement on audio."

Julian looked at her with profound respect.

"You are extraordinary, Chloe."

"We don't have much time," Mark warned from the driver's seat as he slammed his foot on the accelerator.

" rainfall is heavy tonight, and the sanatorium security is armed."

"Then we crash the gates," Julian said coldly.
