Three months later.
The dark clouds that had hung over the Sterling estate had finally cleared.
Arthur and Victoria were both sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
Lady Eleanor was stripped of her executive titles and forced into mandatory retirement under house arrest.
The Sterling estate was quiet, filled with bright summer sunshine and the scent of blooming flowers.
Julian had completely renovated the house, removing all remnants of the past.
Chloe was now the official co-guardian of Lily and director of the newly established Clara Sterling Foundation for Abused Children.
Lily was thriving, her smiles returning brighter than ever.
One afternoon, a heavy courier envelope arrived at the estate stamped with high-priority legal seals.
Julian opened it in his study while Chloe stood nearby.
Inside was a single handwritten letter dated six months ago—written in Clara’s unmistakable handwriting.
Julian’s hands shook as he opened the folded paper.
"What is it, Julian?" Chloe asked gently.
"It's a letter from Clara... sent from her lawyer’s safety deposit box," Julian whispered.
He read the words aloud, his voice thick with emotion:
"My dearest Julian,
If you are reading this, it means I am no longer with you.
I have discovered terrible truths about Arthur and your mother.
I know my life is in danger, but I cannot leave without protecting our daughter.
I have hidden the master key to the family trust inside Lily's silver locket.
If anything happens to me, trust no one in the house—except the young woman named Chloe."
