Chapter 5 - ESCAPE FROM WING B

The four men in tactical gear moved with military precision, flanking the pillar.

"Take them down! Keep the old man alive, dispose of the racer!" one attacker barked.

Jax didn't hesitate for a single second.

He lunged forward, swinging his heavy fist straight into the lead attacker's jaw.

A sharp crack echoed through the garage as the man crumpled to the ground.

Richard grabbed a metal fire extinguisher mounted on the concrete pillar.

He ripped it off the wall and swung it violently at the second attacker.

The heavy cylinder struck the man's ribs, sending him crashing into the hood of a car.

"Move!" Jax roared, grabbing Richard by the shoulder.

They sprinted toward the black pickup truck sitting fifty yards away.

Engine revs roared behind them as the second SUV accelerated in hot pursuit.

The heavy vehicle smashed through a plastic parking barrier, aiming straight for them.

Jax pulled a remote key fob from his pocket and pressed the red button.

The rear gate of his pickup dropped open, revealing a box of heavy industrial road flares.

Jax reached out, struck a flare against the side of his truck, and hurled it into the trailing SUV's windshield.

The bright crimson glare blinded the driver, causing the SUV to swerve violently.

It slammed headfirst into a thick concrete support beam with a deafening crash.

Metal twisted, glass shattered, and thick steam poured from the wrecked engine bay.

Richard slid into the passenger seat of Jax's truck, gasping for air.

Jax slammed the truck into gear, stomped on the gas, and tore up the exit ramp.

They burst out of the garage into the pouring rain of the night street.

"Where are we going?" Richard asked, wiping sweat and grease from his eyes.

"To a place Victoria's money can't reach," Jax grunted, shifting hard into third gear.

"My motorcycle clubhouse on the edge of the docks."

Richard looked at his phone; there were seven missed calls from Julian.

He hit dial and pressed the phone to his ear.

"Julian! Are you safe?" Richard demanded immediately.

"Dad... where did you go?" Julian’s voice trembled over the speaker.

"I'm with someone who knows the truth about your mother," Richard said firmly.

There was a long, terrifying pause on the other end of the line.

"Dad... you need to turn around," Julian whispered, his voice choking back tears.

"Why? What happened at the hospital?" Richard asked, his heart sinking into his stomach.

"Mom just signed the legal papers," Julian said softly.

"They are moving Maya to a private psychiatric sanctuary in the mountains."

"They're taking her away right now, Dad."

Richard slammed his hand onto the dashboard in pure desperation.

"Which facility?" Richard demanded, his knuckles turning white.

"The St. Jude Private Asylum," Julian answered.

"Nobody ever comes back from that place, Dad."

Jax glanced over at Richard, his expression hardening like stone.

"St. Jude..." Jax muttered under his breath.

"That's where my sister died twenty years ago."

Jax slammed his foot down on the accelerator, sending the truck speeding through a red light.

"We aren't going to the docks anymore," Jax said coldly.

"We're going to break your daughter out before they cross the county line."
