Chapter 15 - A Legacy of Steel

Six months later, the grand reopening of the Vance Civic Pavilion drew thousands of people from across the country.

The grand amphitheater below was packed with families enjoying the inaugural orchestral performance. The building didn't creak, it didn't sway; it stood like an immovable fortress of art and community in the heart of the city.

Clara stood on the rooftop terrace, overlooking the illuminated skyline of Los Angeles. The breeze played with the hem of her simple navy dress, but she was warm, grounded, and entirely at peace.

Her phone buzzed with an incoming news alert:

Sentencing Complete: Julian Sterling handed 20-year sentence at Corcoran State Prison.

Clara looked at the notification for a split second, then swiped it away without opening the article. It was yesterday's noise.

Her father joined her at the terrace railing, resting his hands on the smooth limestone balustrade.

"You built something extraordinary, Clara," he said, looking at the city lights.
