Chapter 17 - The Confrontation

Every head in the room snapped toward the darkness of the entrance.

Stepping out from the shadowed container stacks was Julian Rossi. He wore a crisp black suit, his light brown hair swept back, his dark eyes burning with absolute authority. In his hand, he carried no rifle, no heavy weapons—just a single revolver held casually at his side.

Behind him, dozens of heavily armed Rossi loyalists stepped out of the shadows, locking down every exit of the warehouse.

The rival family bosses gasped, dropping their glasses and retreating back from the table.

Marcus froze, his cigar slipping from his fingers and dropping onto the concrete floor. His face turned as pale as a corpse. "Julian... impossible..."

"Did you really think a few hired mercenaries and a fire could put me down?" Julian said, his slow, calm steps echoing ominously against the concrete as he approached the table. "You stole from my family. You tried to murder my newborn child. You starved an innocent boy in his crib."

The other criminal bosses turned to look at Marcus in disgust. Even in the brutal world of the mafia, harming an infant heir was considered an unforgivable betrayal of code.

"He's lying!" Marcus panicked, backing away toward his bodyguards. "Kill him!"
