Chapter 11 - Rebeca’s Confession
The police secured the house.
Alejandro was arrested.
Octavio disappeared.
Dr. Mena disappeared with him.
But Rebeca stayed.
She sat in the library.
No lawyer.
No excuses.
Only a recorder.
And she confessed.
She admitted to drugging Valeria.
Forging Sebastián’s signature.
Paying Camila to remain silent.
Helping falsify Gabriel’s death.
Manipulating Sebastián.
And assisting Alejandro.
But then she said something unexpected.
“I didn’t cause the bruises.”
Sebastián stared at her.
“Who did?”
Rebeca looked at Valeria.
Valeria’s face changed.
She knew.
“The missing seventeen minutes.”
Rebeca nodded.
“Restore them.”
“How?”
“Octavio has the original server.”
“Where?”
Rebeca gave them an address.
An abandoned Alcázar warehouse outside Monterrey.
Sebastián called police.
But Valeria stopped him.
“No.”
He stared at her.
“What?”
“If Octavio knows the police are coming, he’ll destroy it.”
“Then what do you suggest?”
Valeria looked at Gabriel.
“We go first.”
Sebastián stared at his wife.
For the first time, he realized something had changed.
