CHAPTER 3 – The Hidden Recording

Sophia insisted on being taken to the chairman's private office instead of the hospital.

Doctors protested.

She ignored them.

Victor locked the doors.

Only four people remained inside.

Victor.

Sophia.

His chief legal counsel.

And the head of internal security.

Sophia placed the memory card into an isolated laptop.

"No internet."

"No company servers."

The video began.

Grainy security footage.

A private boardroom.

Executives discussing fake construction invoices.

Illegal offshore accounts.

Bribed inspectors.

Destroyed environmental reports.

Victor's breathing slowed.

Then...

One executive appeared on screen.

Harold Kent.

His oldest friend.

The man who had served beside him for twenty-three years.

Victor whispered,

"No..."

The recording continued.

Harold looked directly into the hidden camera.

"The old man still believes Sophia died with her mother."

Everyone inside the office froze.

Victor slowly turned toward Sophia.

"You've been alive all these years..."

She nodded.

"My mother hid me."

Victor collapsed into a chair.

"My brother told me both of you died in the fire."

Sophia's eyes filled with quiet sadness.

"There was never a fire."

"There was an execution."

At that exact moment...

Someone outside quietly unlocked the office with a master key.
