CHAPTER 1 – The Bracelet That Shouldn't Exist
Silence swallowed the lobby.
The piercing emergency alarm still echoed through the marble halls as every pair of eyes turned toward the second-floor balcony.
The elderly chairman gripped the silver bracelet so tightly his knuckles turned white.
His lips trembled.
"...Sophia?"
The name hit the lobby like thunder.
Vanessa frowned.
"Chairman Victor... you know this woman?"
The chairman didn't answer.
Instead, he hurried toward the grand staircase.
His security detail rushed after him.
Employees exchanged confused looks.
Guests whispered.
"The chairman knows her?"
"I thought the Somor heiress died years ago."
"Who is she?"
The bloodied woman slowly forced herself onto one knee.
Every breath hurt.
The cracked ribs from the cliff crash felt like knives beneath her skin.

She refused to look weak.
Victor Somor stopped only inches away.
His eyes searched her face.
Then they landed on the scar beneath her left ear.
The tiny crescent-shaped scar only one child in the family possessed.
His voice broke.
"...Sophia..."
She slowly looked up.
"I don't have much time."
Victor's face turned pale.
"My God..."
He removed his own jacket and wrapped it around her shoulders.
Vanessa froze.
The resort manager had worked for Somor Group eight years.
She had never—
Not once—
Seen Victor Somor kneel before anyone.
He looked at the guards.
"Call medical."
Nobody moved.
He roared.
"NOW!"
The entire lobby exploded into action.
Vanessa suddenly laughed nervously.
"Chairman... she's lying. We searched her. She's homeless."
Sophia slowly reached inside her torn sleeve.
She removed a waterproof memory card.
"I found who stole eight hundred million dollars..."
Every executive in the lobby stopped breathing.
"And they're inside this building."
Across the room...
One man quietly slipped toward the emergency exit.
Sophia saw him.
"So did Victor."
"Seal every door."
