Chapter 16 - THE STORM OF WAREHOUSE 4

The blinding flash bang grenade exploded with a deafening, thunderous roar.
White light and shockwaves instantly disoriented the guards patrolling the docks.
Guard dogs whined in confusion as men stumbled around, clutching their ears in agony.
Victor emerged from the thick harbor fog like an unstoppable force of nature.
He fired two swift, suppressed rounds, dropping the two nearest mercenaries before they could react.
He grabbed an falling assault rifle mid-air, sweeping his arm across to target the remaining sentries.
Continuous muzzle flashes illuminated the dark rain, cutting down Salvatore’s outer perimeter in seconds.
Inside the warehouse, red emergency alarms began to flash and wail incessantly.
"He's here! The ghost is inside!" a guard screamed frantically into his radio communicator.
Victor kicked open the heavy steel side door, stepping directly into the cavernous, dimly lit warehouse.
Towering wooden crates and metal shipping containers lined the vast concrete floor.
At the far end of the room stood a glass-enclosed command office, glowing with server lights.
Inside stood Don Salvatore, furiously plugging hard drives into a portable briefcase vault.
"Kill him! Put fifty bullets in him!" Salvatore shrieked into the intercom system.
A hail of high-caliber bullets rained down from the iron catwalks above Victor's head.
Victor dove behind a massive wooden crate as wood splinters exploded around him.
He reloaded his stolen rifle with a smooth, practiced motion, his eyes cold and focused.
He threw his second flashbang up toward the metal catwalks, blinding the snipers above.
As the men screamed in pain, Victor stepped out into the open, returning precise fire.
Three mercenaries tumbled over the iron railings, crashing heavily onto the concrete below.
Victor advanced step-by-step through the maze of crates, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake.
Nothing could stand between him and the man who destroyed Elena’s life.
With every shot fired, Victor felt the dark shadows of his past slowly clearing away.
He reached the base of the metal staircase leading straight up to Salvatore’s glass office.
Suddenly, the heavy glass window shattered violently as a man was thrown through it.

Inspector Vance staggered out of the office onto the catwalk, her hands covered in fresh blood.
"Victor... wait!" Vance gasped out, holding a bleeding wound in her side.
