Chapter 8: The Legacy

One year later...
Every new employee attended a mandatory orientation.
On the first day...
they were shown a simple photograph.
An elderly woman standing calmly in a lobby.
A shattered coffee cup on the floor.
A security guard holding her arm.
No names.
No titles.
Only one sentence appeared on the screen.
"Character is revealed by how you treat people before you know who they are."
Briggs stood at the front of the room.
He looked at the new employees and smiled.
"I was the man in that picture."
"I almost lost everything because I mistook authority for leadership."
The room remained silent.
Then Evelyn entered quietly from the back.
No applause.
No announcement.
Every employee stood anyway.
Not because she owned the company.
But because she had earned something far more valuable.
May you like
Their respect.
And that became the true legacy of the company.
