Chapter 14 - Vows on the Cliffs

One year later, the cliffs of the Rossi estate were covered in thousands of white roses, hydrangeas, and soft candlelight.

There were no politicians. There were no cameras. There were no false friends or business associates.

Only a small, intimate gathering of the people who truly mattered: Marco, Dr. Halloran, and a handful of our closest, most loyal staff who had stood by us through the darkest storm.

I stood at the stone altar overlooking the vast blue ocean, dressed in a tailored charcoal suit. Beside me, fourteen-month-old Leo stood proudly in a tiny matching tuxedo, holding Marco’s hand and babbling happily as he pointed at the seagulls soaring overhead.

Then, the acoustic strings began to play.

Hannah appeared at the end of the aisle, walking alone across the rose petals. She wore an off-the-shoulder lace wedding gown that cascaded around her like seafoam, carrying a simple bouquet of white lilies. She looked ethereal, radiant, and absolutely breathtaking.

When she reached the altar, I took her hands in mine. Her fingers were warm and steady.

"Hannah," I spoke, my voice echoing clearly over the sound of the ocean waves. "A year ago, I pointed a weapon at you in the dark, blind with grief and terror. You answered my hatred with pure love. You saved my son's life, and in doing so, you gave me a reason to live. I promise to protect you, honor you, and love you with every beat of my heart until my final day."

Hannah smiled through her tears, her eyes locked onto mine.

"Lorenzo," she answered, her voice ringing with pure clarity. "You took a broken, grieving girl and gave her a fortress of safety and love. You showed me that family isn't just about the blood we share, but the promises we keep. You and Leo are my entire world. I promise to stand beside you through every battle, every storm, and every joy for the rest of our lives."

The officiant smiled warmly. "By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Lorenzo, you may kiss your bride."

I pulled Hannah into my arms, dipping her slightly as I kissed her under the golden afternoon sun. Leo clapped his chubby hands, shouting with pure joy, and the small crowd erupted into heartfelt cheers.
