Chapter 11 - THE SIGNATURE

Maya picked up the pen.

Arthur shook his head.

“Don’t.”

Eleanor gestured toward Claire.

One of the guards stepped closer to her.

Arthur immediately stopped.

Maya looked at Claire.

Claire subtly shook her head.

Maya understood.

They were being pushed toward something bigger than ownership.

She signed.

Eleanor smiled.

Arthur signed next.

Richard refused.

Eleanor produced another photograph.

Richard’s son.

Richard went pale.

“You said he was safe.”

Eleanor smiled.

“No one is safe.”

Richard signed.

Then Eleanor turned toward Adrian.

“My son.”

Adrian stared at her.

“You never called me that.”

“Sign.”

He did.

Eleanor collected the documents.

For the first time that night, genuine satisfaction appeared on her face.

Arthur watched carefully.

“You have everything.”

“Yes.”

“Then release Claire.”

Eleanor laughed.

“You still don’t understand.”

Arthur’s expression hardened.

“The signatures were never about the company.”

She placed the documents into a scanner.

A hidden system activated.

Charles Sterling’s recorded voice filled the room.

“Identity verification accepted.”

“Four Sterling bloodline signatures confirmed.”

Arthur stared.

A steel wall opened.

Behind it stood a private vault.

Eleanor whispered.

“Thank you.”

Inside were hundreds of drives.

Charles Sterling’s complete blackmail archive.

Enough information to destroy careers.

Governments.

Corporations.

Families.

Eleanor had spent decades trying to access it.

Only four Sterling descendants could unlock it together.

That was why she kept Claire alive.

That was why she found Adrian.

That was why Maya had been brought into the family secret.

Arthur stared at Eleanor.

“You created all of this for a vault?”

“No.”

She walked inside.

“I created all of this for what’s inside the vault.”

She removed one small drive.

Written across it were two words.

PROJECT CROWN.

Arthur looked at Richard.

Richard’s face changed.

He knew the name.

Arthur grabbed him.

“What is Project Crown?”

May you like

Richard whispered:

“The reason our father was never prosecuted.”
