Chapter 15 - Sovereignty

That evening, the sun dipped below the Atlantic horizon, painting the sky in deep shades of crimson, violet, and gold.

High above the coastline, Dominic Mercer stood alone on the stone terrace of the main mansion.

The heavy wrought-iron gates at the perimeter were locked, patrolled by Frank's men with quiet, absolute vigilance. The shipping docks at Pier 19 were operating at full capacity, clean of corruption and protected under the family's direct authority.

Down on the eastern bluff, the warm amber lights of Catherine’s cottage glowed steadily through the evening dusk, casting long, peaceful reflections across the tranquil waters of the cove.

Dominic took a slow sip from his glass, listening to the rhythmic, eternal crash of the waves against the granite cliffs below.

No enemies remained inside his perimeter. No false allies shared his table.

The bloodline had been tested, the traitors had been erased, and the Mercer house stood sovereign upon the hill—unbroken, untouchable, and forever enduring.
