Thirty minutes later, black vehicles arrived outside the Harrington Estate.
The guests watched in disbelief as detectives entered the mansion.
Victoria immediately became defensive.
“This is ridiculous,” she said. “She is creating drama because she wants attention.”
Detective Collins walked into the room holding a folder.
“Mrs. Harrington.”
Victoria forced a smile.
“Yes?”
“We need to ask you some questions.”
The room became uncomfortable.
Elena sat on the sofa, holding her stomach.
She looked exhausted.
But she stayed silent.
Detective Collins opened the folder.
“Three months ago, Mrs. Vale reported an attempted accident.”
Everyone turned.
Victoria’s face went pale.
“What?”
Collins continued.
“A broken stair railing.”
The guests gasped.
Elena looked at the staircase.
“The railing was damaged before I fell today.”
The room exploded with whispers.
Victoria immediately pointed at Elena.
“She planned this!”
But Collins shook his head.
“No.”
He placed photographs on the table.
“These pictures were taken before tonight’s event.”
The photos showed the damaged railing.
And fingerprints.
Victoria stared.
Her confidence disappeared.
But then she smiled.
A small, dangerous smile.
“You still don’t know the truth.”
Everyone looked at her.

“Ask Elena why she never told anyone about her past.”
