CHAPTER 3 — The Woman They Tried To Erase

Two weeks later…

The Castillo mansion was no longer a place of fear.

It was a battlefield.

The courtroom was packed.

News cameras surrounded the building.

Everyone wanted to see the downfall of Vivian Moretti.

But nobody expected what happened next.

Vivian entered confidently.

She still believed she could escape.

Until the judge looked at the evidence.

Financial records.

Security footage.

Witness statements.

Everything.

The truth could no longer be hidden.

Vivian’s lawyer stood.

“My client denies all accusations.”

Then Alejandro stood.

The entire courtroom became silent.

He looked at Vivian.

Not with anger.

With disappointment.

“You spent three years trying to erase my wife.”

Vivian looked away.

“You locked her away.”

“You took her identity.”

“You convinced everyone she was gone.”

Alejandro’s voice became stronger.

“But you made one mistake.”

Vivian looked at him.

“You underestimated how much I loved her.”

The judge reviewed the final evidence.

Then delivered the verdict.

Guilty.

Vivian Moretti was sentenced to years in prison for kidnapping, fraud, and unlawful imprisonment.

But Alejandro wasn’t looking at her anymore.

He was looking at Elena.

The woman sitting beside him.

The woman who survived.

Months later…

The Castillo mansion changed.

The locked rooms were opened.

The dark memories slowly faded.

Elena planted flowers in the garden where she once dreamed of walking freely.

Alejandro watched her from the doorway.

“You know…”

She smiled.

“What?”

“For three years, I searched the entire world for you.”

Elena turned around.

“And now?”

Alejandro walked toward her.

“Now I spend every day making sure you never feel lost again.”

Tears filled her eyes.

“But I was broken.”

Alejandro gently held her hand.

“No.”

He shook his head.

“You survived.”

A year later…

The Castillo family welcomed a new beginning.

The same mansion that once held Elena captive became the place where she celebrated her freedom.

At the entrance stood a small plaque.

Not with Alejandro’s name.

Not with the Castillo family legacy.

But with Elena’s words:

“No one can erase a person who refuses to give up.”

And every time Alejandro looked at his wife…

He remembered the day he found her.

Not on a battlefield.

Not in another country.

Not after some impossible rescue.

But inside the place where he thought she was already safe.

The place where she should have been protected.

Her own home.

And that was the greatest truth of all.

Sometimes the people closest to you can hide the darkest secrets.

But love…

May you like

True love…

Will always find its way back home.
