One year later, Evelyn stood on a stage in front of hundreds of people.
Her company had become one of the fastest-growing investment firms in America.
But she wasn't celebrating revenge.
She was celebrating freedom.
A reporter asked:
“Do you regret staying with Richard for fifteen years?”
Evelyn smiled.
“No.”
The reporter looked surprised.
“Why?”
“Because those years taught me something.”
She looked toward the audience.
“Sometimes people spend years trying to destroy you…”
