Chapter 5 — The Peace He Finally Earned
One year later.
Easter Sunday came again.
But this time…
There was no fear.
No lies.
No locked doors.
Arthur sat in his backyard with Lily and her young daughter.
A cup of black coffee rested beside him.

“You know, Dad…”

She laughed softly.
“Now I think you’re the most terrifying quiet person in the world.”

Not because he needed it.

He removed the satellite phone.
The authorization card.
The contact list.
Everything that belonged to the man he used to be.
Then he placed them into a box.
And buried it beneath the old oak tree in his backyard.
