Within hours, Daniel Cross became the most wanted man in the city.

The same man who smiled on television.

The same man who donated money to schools.

The same man people called a hero.

But Olivia knew something.

The most dangerous people weren’t always hiding in darkness.

Sometimes they stood under bright lights.

Daniel was found near the old train station.

But before police arrived…

He called Emma.

The phone in Olivia’s hand rang.

Emma looked terrified.

“Answer it,” Olivia said gently.

Emma pressed the button.

“Hello?”

A cold voice responded.

“Your sister was always too curious.”

Emma’s face changed.

“Where is Lily?”

Daniel laughed softly.

“She thought she could expose me.”

Olivia motioned for the team to trace the call.

Emma held the phone tightly.

“You’re going to jail.”

Daniel laughed again.

“Little girl, people like me don’t go to jail.”

Then another voice appeared.

A weak voice.

A familiar voice.

“Emma…”

Emma’s eyes widened.

“Lily?”

The phone went silent.

Then Daniel spoke.

“You have ten minutes.”

The call ended.

Olivia immediately moved.

Because now they knew.

Lily was alive.

But they had no idea where Daniel was taking her.

Until Frank spoke.

“I know where he would go.”

Everyone turned.

Frank looked ashamed.

“The old bakery warehouse.”

Olivia stared at him.

“You knew?”

Frank lowered his head.

“I was afraid.”

Emma looked at him.

“My sister was afraid too.”

Those words hurt more than any punishment.

Frank nodded.

“I know.”
